Safeguards for the Exchange

The Exchange community has repeatedly called for better protection from themselves and their users from harmful or unwanted ad content and behavior. We have answered the call with Media Guard, the Right Media Exchange's system for automatically detecting technical attributes in ads and for uniformly classifying creatives.

Media Guard uses automated testing and manual review processes to help ensure consistent and objective ad classification and filtering.

An automated tool called Creative Tester helps detect a range of technical attributes, some of which are informational, and others that may identify malicious behavior. In addition, some creatives that pass Creative Tester are reviewed and classified by two human reviewers. There are over 100 categories of attributes to help the reviewers classify creatives in an objective fashion. This granular classification process helps provide publishers on the Exchange with ad filtering that allows only those ads which meet a publisher's specific content and behavioral standards to bid on their inventory. The Media Guard testing and classification process benefits all publishers on the Exchange by helping them apply their specific quality standards consistently across all partners.
